KitST with Bing Blazer

CMS - 2.2.15 - Bonaventure

KitST Clocks have undergone development in software and hardware over the past few years. It is feasible to upgrade a V1 clock to be able to run the latest clock options.

New 2021

I have been able to create an upgrade board to bring the Version 2 software to the Version 1 clocks.
New features include an on clock menu to adjust Clock Mode, Beep settings, Volume Control, Time and Date. A Race mode with a countdown timer is also available for mass start events.
The new system knows about TimeZones and Summer time. This setting can be adjusted from the new configuration software.

The display is still limited to the 6 7-segment characters so the menu text is a bit creative!. You can see a demo of the upgrade here:

The upgrade kits are now available. DIY instructions are here: KitST V1+ Upgrade.pdf (1.90MB)

New configuration software:  KitStConfigV2.zip (86.30KB)

also a version that should / might work on XP!  KitStConfig2xp.zip (54.58KB)

Please contact me to for more information.

The older upgrades below are superseded by the V1 to V1.5 upgrade.

Software:

To upgrade software the main processor chip has to be exchanged. The processor chip can be removed and sent for an exchange. This service is offered free of charge - just return the chip!

Hardware:

  • Internal USB port. Early models were supplied with an external Serial to USB adaptor. Later models have a built in USB port. With a bit of a squeeze the early cases can take the built in USB port. £20
  • Highly Accurate Real Time Clock. The 'standard' RTC chip can be replaced with the new Highly Accurate Real Time Clock which is accurate to about a second per week. The main processor must also be exchanged. £20

In the UK I can undertake these 'in the field' provided we are both in the same field. For overseas customers I can send the upgrade hardware with instructions.
